Stephen Wallace and Regional Engagement and Mobilization Associate  (he/him)

Stephen Wallace is the Regional Engagement and Mobilization Associate for Michigan’s Children. In this role, he helps to build and facilitate relationships with partner organizations statewide and helps manage Michigan’s Children’s social media. He also produces our Lunch and Learn webinar series, Speaking for Kids Podcast, and weekly Capitol Corner program. Stephen is a talented and passionate writer and his recent blog post around immigration’s impact on kids and families in Southwest Detroit was shared nationally by the Partnership for America’s Children.

“I’ve been with Michigan Children’s since November of 2021 and I’m here and have remained here, because I believe in the mission of making Michigan the best place to live for children and families.”

Stephen studied public policy at the University of Michigan, with a focus on how legislation and policy can disproportionately impact vulnerable communities. Outside of work, Stephen is a father and a husband. He loves Detroit, sports, and exercising his inner policy wonk in discussions with family and friends (as well as sometimes just hanging out with them). He is also passionate about addressing mental health stigmas for Black men and boys and an advocate for increasing culturally competent mental health resources in Detroit.
