Education has a tremendous impact on future opportunity and earnings. The zip code a child is born into shouldn’t limit a child’s access to educational opportunities. We believe all Michigan children deserve access to high quality education; the educational opportunities for kids from the UP or the thumb or Detroit should be the same as those of kids in Oakland County (which has some of the wealthiest areas in the state).

We advocate for:

• Equitable school funding
• K-12 system improvements (accountability & transparency) and sustainability
• Investments in children in and outside school focused on addressing the school-to-prison pipeline. We know that keeping kids busy and learning results in better lifelong outcomes and costs less than having them involved the juvenile justice system
