<description>Your Eyes and Ears for Children's Policy Issues

Would you like to see better outcomes for children in Michigan? Are you interested in being part of the change? Join Michigan's Children as we work to make Michigan a place where all children thrive.

Michigan's Children works with legislators and other policy makers at the state and federal levels through meetings, testimony at public hearings, and other communications to forward an agenda for children and families. Michigan's Children also is committed to helping the public advocate for better policies and programs for children. We do this by:

Providing timely information on budget and policy issues affecting children.

Informing communities of opportunities to influence decision making.

Training community leaders, parents and youths to be effective advocates.

Providing forums for children and youths to share with policymakers their perspectives on problems they face growing up.

Providing communities with necessary data about how local children are faring.

		<description> Early Childhood Action Network

 In
2010, Michigan's Children is partnering with the national Birth to Five
Policy Alliance and several Michigan organizations to take advantage of
a unique opportunity to change the state's economic course by
prioritizing investments in early childhood when the foundation is set
for a lifetime of learning.

Join us as we fight to protect funding
for early childhood programs, educate legislative candidates on the
value of these investments and build support for early childhood
programs.

Now is the time to grow the
workforce of tomorrow by ensuring our children are ready to learn!

42% of participants in the March 10 Education Town Hall believe 100% of Michigan children should receive publicly funded preschool

51% support raising taxes to pay for expanding public preschool programs

For children, health reform must follow one simple principle: Fix what&amp;rsquo;s broken and build on what works.

A healthy America starts with healthy children.
And, as Congress works to reform our nation&amp;rsquo;s health care system,
Michigan's Children is working with First Focus and Voices for America's Children in urging them to
remember the unique needs of children. Read more (index.php/Health/Health-Care-Reform.html)
