Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Department of Education are currently in the process of revising the Michigan Model for Health® high school curriculum.  Part of this revision process involves gathering youth input.

A youth survey has been created and can be found here,   http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=iwlvLH6y9DRPLh43pFZT_2bg_3d_3d

The revision team wants to know what young people think should be included. The questions ask youth about three areas:
  • What they think the health issues are for today's youth,
  • How the health education young people received helps them meet these health challenges, and
  • How they plan to access health information in the future.

Taking the survey is completely voluntary. All answers will be carefully considered as  the Michigan Model for Health® high school curriculum is revised. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. This survey is intended to get opinions from youth ages 13 - 19. It will close October 15, 2009.

Please distribute this survey link and information to youth that you serve.  Any questions about the survey can be directed to  Jessica Talamo, M.A.T., School Health Education Consultant, Michigan Department of Community Health via phone, 517. 241.0270, or email, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Our Mission
Michigan's Children is a statewide, independent voice for children and their families. We work with lawmakers, business leaders, and communities to make Michigan a place where all children have the opportunity to thrive.
Our Priorities

Michigan's Children, through our Board of Directors, annually establishes priorities that guide our administrative and legislative advocacy.  We use those priorities in our work directly with policy makers and to assist community leaders, parents, youth and others to advocate on their own behalf.  View or download the Michigan's Children's 2010 Policy Agenda
