As a statewide, independent voice for children and their families, our mission is to make Michigan a place where all children have the opportunity to thrive. Michigan’s Children engages in legislative advocacy on behalf of children in three priority areas:
- Supporting Families with Young Children
- Ensuring a Successful Transition to Adulthood for At-Risk Youths
- Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Child Well-Being
In addition to interviews surrounding legislative advocacy as it pertains to children, Michigan's Children staff are available to serve as expert sources and provide commentary for timely news stories on topic such as:
- Child welfare
- Child abuse and neglect prevention
- Parenting education and support
- Infant mortality
- Early childhood education
- Budget issues and legislation affecting children and families
