We are all very busy. We have families, we have jobs, we have a lot of responsibilities. We want to know how to impact changes in ways that fit with our lives. Michigan's Children can provide tools for becoming more effiecient and effective advocates for children and families.
In addition to working directly with legislators and other policymakers, Michigan’s Children also works directly with organizations, community leaders, parents and youths by providing them the tools they need to effectively advocate on their own behalf. These tools include:
Michigan's Children works to make data, policy and program information accessible and useful to local advocates and service providers. Advocates use Michigan’s Children’s resources to help make information heard by decision-makers and used to change policies and practices that affect children and families.
Michigan's Children staff is available with data or other technical support to help local groups and individuals: amplify local efforts taking place around children and families; draw attention to successful programs and initiatives; draw attention to important issues; and help to frame policy and other advocacy work. Communities take advantage of this resource through local partnerships, trainings, presentations and individual information requests.
