Would you like to see better outcomes for children in Michigan? Are you interested in being part of the change?  Join Michigan's Children as we work to make Michigan a place where all children thrive.

Michigan's Children works with legislators and other policymakers through meetings, testimony at public hearings, and other communications to forward an agenda for children and families.  Michigan's Children also is committed to helping the public advocate for better policies and programs for children.  We do this by:

  • Providing timely information on budget and policy issues affecting children.
  • Informing communities of opportunities to influence decision making.
  • Training community leaders, parents and youths to be effective advocates.
  • Providing forums for children and youths to share with policymakers their perspectives on problems they face growing up.
  • Providing communities with necessary data about how local children are faring.

Our Priorities

Michigan's Children, through our Board of Directors, annually establishes priorities that guide our administrative and legislative advocacy.  We use those priorities in our work directly with policy makers and to assist community leaders, parents, youth and others to advocate on their own behalf.  View or download Michigan's Children's 2008 Legislative and Administrative Priorities

The Michigan Coalition for Children and Families, a partner of Michigan’s Children, has published the 2008 Children's Agenda.  View or download the Children's Agenda.
