Recommendations to Better Support Michigan's Education System (5/2010)

At its May 11, 2010, meeting, the State Board of Education approved its "Recommendations to Better Support Michigan's Education System - Reforms, Restructuring, and Revenues." Michigan's Children provided testimony to the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on School Aid and the Department of Education highlighting our recommendations for dropout prevention and recovery.

Michigan's Children testified before the Michigan House of Representatives Education Committee as they were debating a series of education reform legislation in 2009. In addition, we facilitated the participation if Andrew Moore, Senior Fellow for the Institute for Youth, Education and Families at the National League of Cities to provide testimony to that committee and meet informally with House and Senate Education Committee members and staff.
