How many kids will be affected? The release of Governor Snyder’s budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2012 launches a new year of Budget Basics reports by Michigan’s Children. These reports provide information and recommendations regarding State of Michigan budget proposals and decisions affecting children and families. They are a key part of Michigan’s Children’s Budget Watch program, funded by The Skillman Foundation, to increase awareness of the nature and scope of public investments in children and families in Michigan, and to increase civic involvement in the budget decision-making process. We already have an analysis summarizing Governor Snyder’s proposals affecting youths and families and we’ll have updates as lawmakers act. Find the reports under Library / Budget Basics or receive them via email by signing up for our e-bulletins. |
