Oakland

On May 04 2009, Oakland Schools hosted a Youth Voices Changing Public Policy program in partnership with Michigan's Children and several of its member school districts.  The purpose of the program was to highlight the Graduation Coach program which was adopted as a pilot in several of the schools as a best practice model in reducing high school drop out rates.

On June 02, 2008, the Royal Oak Community Center hosted a Youth Voices Changing Public Policy program in partnership with Michigan's Children, SEMCA, Oakland Schools, and Common Ground Sanctuary.  The purpose of this program was to help policymakers understand the impact alternative education, youth employment programs, and community based agencies have on drop out prevention and recovery efforts.
