Educators Discuss Michigan's Drop Out Rate
November 3, 2011| WLNS.com
Educators across the state are gathering on the West Campus of Lansing Community College to talk about Michigan's drop out rate.

According to the non-profit organization Michigan's Children 16,000 Michigan students drop out of school each year. In 2009, 25 percent of Michigan students did not graduate after four years of high school.

At Wednesday's Pathways to Graduation Conference participants hope to brainstorm ways to help students graduate. Organizers say it's important to invest in high-risk kids because it'll help save the state money in social services down the road.
