Youths to Discuss Their Needs With State Leaders at KidSpeak® 2011

LANSING – Young people from several Michigan communities will gather at the state Capitol on Wednesday, May 11 for KidSpeak® 2011 where they will share with key legislators thoughts on what they need to achieve success from cradle to career. The annual statewide KidSpeak® brings youths before listening panels comprised of legislative leaders, state community health, education and human services officials, and select lobbyists. The youth forum empowers young people by giving them a voice in public policy debates and provides policymakers the rare opportunity to hear the voices of youths on issues of concern to them.
